Ilia Topuria’s next move could be closer than you think. The undefeated UFC fighter hinted at forthcoming developments in a cryptic Instagram post on Tuesday, teasing that “big news is coming soon.” It’s been more than eight months since his last fight, during which Topuria has taken time away to handle personal matters, including what he described as “false allegations of domestic abuse.”

Topuria, 17-0, is widely regarded as one of the top pound-for-pound fighters in the sport. He earned featherweight titles by defeating veterans Alexander Volkanovski and Max Holloway, later vacating that belt to move up to the 155-pound division. At UFC 317 last June, he knocked out Charles Oliveira, capturing a second championship and cementing his status as a dual-division champion.

Complicating rumors, Abdelaziz has also denied talks of Ian Garry securing a welterweight title shot, and one of his other fighters, Kamaru Usman, has suggested he may not be pursuing a fight with Makhachev.
Looking ahead, Topuria currently has several high-profile lightweight contenders circling for a title shot: Justin Gaethje (who recently defeated Paddy Pimblett for an interim belt at UFC 324) as well as Max Holloway and Charles Oliveira, who are set to clash in a UFC 326 main event.
